Digital transformation – the scale and pace of change

Gabriela Matei, General Manager, Microsoft Romania and Philippe Rogge, Area VP Microsoft Central and Eastern Europe

Digital transformation is not simply about technology—it requires business leaders to re-envision existing business models and embrace a different way of bringing together people, data, and processes to create value for their customers. While the past few years have been critical to innovation and disruptive technologies, today is more exciting than ever before. We are happy to share with you our thoughts on why this is the right time to join the digital transformation conversation.

10:00 - 10:45

The Digital Sharing Economy

April Rinne, Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum

New technologies are profoundly expanding people's ability to connect with one another, transforming business, government and society at large. New business models built on these technologies enable more people and organizations to meet their needs better, and the digital sharing economy is at the center of these shifts.

The digital sharing economy is an economy based on "access over ownership" and driven by improvements in resource utilization, peer-to-peer networks, and new notions of community. Tens of thousands of digital sharing economy platforms now exist globally, in almost every sector imaginable. We'll take a global tour of what is happening, why it matters -- for Romania, Europe and beyond -- and what is on the horizon.

Cybersecurity and E-Government

Cyber resilience and incident response in today’s Internet

Johnnie Konstantas, Senior Director, Enterprise Cybersecurity Group, Microsoft

A growing reliance on the Internet and an assumption of compromise are two realities that organizations around the world have to reconcile. Staying competitive, compliant and agile means taking advantage of the cloud, IoT and a mobile-first development approach but adopting them also means heightened exposure to cybercrime. You cannot be left behind, so the key is to digitally transform, securely. During this session you’ll hear about the trends, both global and regional, that are driving the behaviors of network attackers and defenders. Referencing Microsoft’s own experience in helping companies respond and recover from security breaches, you will get guidance and demonstration of how to make your organization more resilient to cyber threats and avoid common mistakes. Leaving the session you should have a high level roadmap for how to leverage best practices and innovations to improve your security posture and maintain it for the long term.
